Reading the dashboard
Period, summary cards, the traffic chart, filters and segments
The top of every site dashboard has the same three parts: the period you are looking at, the summary cards with their change against the period before, and the chart. Filters and segments then apply to every panel below them.

Choosing the period
- ✓Pick a preset (Today, 7 days, Month to date…) or type your own dates.
- ✓The arrows next to the selector step back and forward. Calendar periods move by whole days or months ("Today" → all of yesterday, "Month to date" → all of last month); rolling windows such as 7 days or 30 days move by their own length.
- ✓The forward arrow is disabled once you reach the present.
Summary cards and their change
Each card shows the figure for the selected period and, next to it, how much it moved against the previous period: the same length of time right before it. 7 days is compared with the 7 days before; a custom range of 10 days with the 10 days before.
- ✓Hover over the change, or move to the card with the keyboard, to see the exact dates compared and the previous value ("Before: 26,584").
- ✓The arrow follows the figure; the colour tells you whether it is good news. A bounce rate that goes down is a green down arrow.
- ✓Rates such as bounce rate change in percentage points (pp): from 48% to 41% is "↓ 7 pp", not a 15% drop.
- ✓No change is shown when the previous period had no data or was not recorded in full (the site was added later, or the days were already deleted by your plan's retention), or for "All time", which has nothing before it.
- ✓With days imported from Plausible, only page views are compared when the two periods are not made the same way (imported days in one and not in the other, or a mix of both): visitors and visits are counted differently on each side, and the Page views card says so.
- ✓Today is compared with the same number of hours right before it. At 13:00 that is yesterday from 11:00 to 23:59, which is not the same part of the day; the tooltip shows those hours so you can judge.
- ✓The Pageviews and Unique visitors cards also show or hide their line in the chart.
Chart granularity
Next to the chart legend you can group the chart by Hour, Day, Week or Month. Only the options that make sense for the period are offered, and the selector is hidden when there is just one:
- ✓Hour: periods of up to 7 days.
- ✓Day: periods longer than 2 days.
- ✓Week: 14 days or more. Weeks start on Monday.
- ✓Month: 59 days or more.
By default the chart is hourly up to 2 days and daily beyond that. Your choice is kept when you change the period, as long as it still fits; otherwise the chart goes back to the default.
Hours, days, weeks and months follow your site's time zone (Site settings → Time zone; UTC until you change it), and so do Today, Yesterday and this month. A visit, one visitor on one day, is still counted from midnight to midnight UTC, the day the bounce rate and the funnels use.
Filters and segments
Click a row of a traffic panel (pages, sources, channels, countries, devices, browsers, systems) to filter the whole dashboard by it, or press Filter to write one. Every filter must hold at once, and all of them stay in the page address, so a reload, a bookmark or a link shows the same view.
- ✓Four conditions: is, is not, contains and does not contain. "Contains" ignores upper and lower case, and %, _ or \ are searched as they are.
- ✓Values are the ones the panels show: Direct for a visit without a referrer, None for a missing UTM tag, Unknown for a country or browser we could not tell.
- ✓Event property: "plan is pro" keeps the sessions (one visitor on one day, UTC) in which a custom event had plan=pro, with all their pages, goals and purchases. "Is not" is every other session, including those without custom events, so both always add up to the whole.
- ✓Segments: save the filters on screen with a name and apply them again with one click. Up to 20 per site, on every plan. A reader of your team can apply your segments, not save or delete them.
- ✓Days imported from Plausible are daily totals, not visits: with any filter on they are left out, and the dashboard says so above the cards.
View all
Each panel shows its top 10. "View all" opens the complete list: search it, sort it by pageviews or visitors (and by revenue in a store) and page through it, 50 rows at a time. The search and the order cover every row, not only the ten on the panel.
Revenue in a store is that of the orders placed in a session that has the row. A session that saw three pages counts its order in each of the three, so the column does not add up to the total sold; the Revenue by channel panel credits each order to the visit it came from (first visit within 24 hours).
