Team and readers
Invite your partner, your client or your agency to see the figures without handing over your password. A reader sees the dashboards and reports of all your sites and cannot change anything.
Where
Settings → Team. Inviting is part of Pro: up to 5 readers per account, pending invitations included.
How an invitation works
- Type the reader's email address and send the invitation. They get an email from SimpleData with a link, in the language you are using.
- The link lasts 7 days and works once. Inviting the same address again sends a new link and the old one stops working.
- The reader opens it and signs in to SimpleData with that address. Without an account yet, they create one for free with it and open the link again.
- Only the invited address can accept: a forwarded link opened with another account does not work, and does not say who sent it.
- From then on your sites appear in their list, under "Shared with you", with your address.
What a reader can and cannot do
| A reader… sees | every dashboard of every site of your account, the live map, scroll depth and time on page, the days you imported, goals, funnels and paths, ecommerce and subscription figures, and the weekly reports |
| A reader… exports | the CSV and the image of a dashboard, as you can |
| A reader… cannot change | sites, their settings, time zone, excluded traffic or geolocation, integrations (Stripe, Shopify, WordPress), imports, alerts, the share link, goals, funnels, reports, the team |
| A reader… cannot see | your billing, your API keys, your settings or the installation code |
Plan, limits and emails
- The plan is yours: the reader's own plan does not matter, and your monthly page views are still yours alone.
- If your account goes back to Free, readers keep their place but see nothing; they see your sites again, without a new invitation, as soon as you are on Pro. On Free you can still remove them or cancel invitations.
- The weekly report emails and the email alerts keep going only to you. Readers see the reports in the dashboard.
- Readers can apply the segments you saved, not save new ones or delete yours.
- The API and the MCP server read only the sites of the account that owns the key: a reader cannot read your sites with their own key.
Removing someone, or leaving
- In Settings → Team, "Remove" takes access away at the reader's next request.
- A reader leaves an account from their own Settings, "Accounts you can see".
- Deleting your account removes your team and its invitations. A reader who deletes their account leaves every team.
- Someone removed, or who left, cannot come back with the old link: send a new invitation.
- An invited address is kept only while the invitation is pending and for 30 days after it expires or is cancelled; accepting removes it from the invitation.
